Hey Folks,
We have all come a long way in 3+ years. I can remember during my sophomore year squeezing Jake’s drum kit onto the undersized stage at The Mellow Mushroom every two weeks and playing to a packed house of our closest friends, our first Maxwell Edison supporters. We played our music and tried in vain to keep in time with each other, while you all ate pizza and drank cheap beer trying in vain to make the music sound bearable. One time we blew out the sound system during the first song, one time we got paid with two pitchers of beer and a couple pizza coupons, and I’m sure one time we might have even played a decent show.
I assume the latter is at least somewhat true because I have seen many of the same faces at each show following, and even the best of friends can pay only so many $5 cover charges. So we kept playing songs, and you kept supporting us. We started writing new songs, playing at new, more fitting venues, and we started seeing new faces mixed in with the familiar. And each new face would make me happy, because it meant that someone out there told this new face that they should come out to one of our shows, that our show was not to be missed, that a good time was to be had—that’s why we started all of this, to have a good time, to laugh, to sing, to play some good old rock’n roll music, to turn unfamiliar faces into friends. That’s what we did too, and it has changed our lives in ways that I cannot explain—I can only thank you for being a part of it and a part of us.
Well my friends, it is my somber duty to inform you that on this upcoming Friday, December 2, 2005 at The Common Grounds, Maxwell Edison will be having a last and final show marking the end of this unforgettable era. Jake, Steve, Tim, and I have nothing but fond memories to take with us from this amazing experience, so we look at this show as nothing less than a celebration of these three years of incomparable friendship, absolute enjoyment, and uncontested appreciation. And all of those blessings would not have been possible without your familiar faces and your seemingly undying support. We would love it if you and anyone who you think should experience the undeniable entertainment of a Maxwell Edison show would join us for this final celebration—it really wouldn’t be the same without you.
And to ensure that the night lives up to its buildup, we are lucky enough to share it with Band Marino from Orlando and our good friends Killarney Star and Morningbell.
I guarantee you will have a great night with us and our friends, and I guarantee that there will be great musical nights to be had together in the future. I cannot begin to thank you all again for all that you have done for us—Jake, Steve, Tim and I feel that we obviously got the good end of the deal in our relationship with you—all we had to do was sing and play, and you cheered and came back for more.
Thanks for that.
Best,
Collin Whitlock

Hey Everyone,
We will be closing out the semester this Friday at The Sidebar. We're going to be playing with the local band Redboy and Pocket Novel Mystery from Tallahassee. The show starts at 10 and we are the last band to go on.
We're really looking forward to sending off all of our friends who are graduating (including TIM!!!) and we've got some great stuff lined up. A hint....what do communism and Mia Farrow have in common? The first person to email us with the answer gets free cover!!!
Either way, make sure you come out Friday for a great show. Take care.
Jake
